November 24 – Poetry EVENT at AWE

sapphoFROM THE QUEER CANON – Sunday November 24 at 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the A Woman’s Eye Gallery Annex (at herchurch).  Every spring LGBTQ poets from around the country converge on Santa Barbara for the Annual Whitman-Stein Poetry Fest, to celebrate LGBTQ poetry and poets.

This month, the Fest is coming to San Francisco. On Sunday, November 24th, seven Northern California poets who’ve participated in the Santa Barbara event are meeting to read their own work and that of other poets from the queer canon. It will be an afternoon packed with poetry and open to all.

The Poets:  Nixson Borah (Atascadero) reads Robert Peters. Giovanna Capone (Oakland) reads Pamela Sneed. Marc Hofstadter (Walnut Creek) reads James Schuyler. Glenn Ingersoll  (Berkeley) reads Paul Mariah. Tobey Kaplan (Oakland) reads Djuna Barnes. Kit Kennedy (San Francisco) reads Sappho. Jan Steckel (Oakland) reads Gabriela Mistral
