In “Hat Trickâ€, three Bay Area artists invert the everyday into the extraordinary through their scientifically accurate, textured and whimsical works. Founded in March of 2007, The Mad Hatter’s Society captures everyday objects from an idiosyncratic point of view.
There will be an Artists’ Reception on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 12-5pm.
Diane T Sands is an illustrator from Oakland, CA. President of the local Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, her work embodies art in the service of science. By enlarging the microscopic to the macroscopic, her work presents new views of the often unseen or merely unnoticed.
Theresa Joyce is a visual artist and garden designer based in Sonoma County. She enjoys telling a story with her paintings and exploring the interplay between what is real and imagined. Her paintings and garden art are colorful, whimsical and very playful.
D. Gerard Lancaster is a San Francisco artist who paints with abandon. He is drawn to the idea of creating secret worlds, populated with mysterious, glowing creatures swaying to complex rhythms.
