Discontent in August — August show

“August. August.  We’re not ready for you.  Slip in like the fog and steal our summer.”

With that delicious tease, photographers Charles Wong and Irene Poon come to AWE Gallery August 3 through September 1, 2013.

Meet the artists at their reception on Sunday, August 4, Noon – 5:00 PM.  Join a lively community of artists in conversation and enjoy light refreshments.

Talented artists, Irene Poon and Charles Wong, slip into A Woman’s Eye Gallery in August and provide their sensitive and realistic photographs of urban life.

Wong studied with Minor White, Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and Edward Weston at the California School of Fine Arts (now the S.F. Art Institute).  He has had exhibitions locally and nationally.  His Screen Shot 2013-08-01 at 6.34.38 PMScreen Shot 2013-08-01 at 6.34.06 PMlatest work is the publication of Sweet and Sour.  Wong recently had an exhibition with Irene Poon at the Smith Anderson North Gallery in San Anselmo.

Poon studied photography with Don Worth at San Francisco State.  Her work has been show in various local and national venues and has been published in Point and Counterpoint:  Black and White Photography.

While you slip into AWE Gallery during August to enjoy the photographs of Charles Wong and Irene Poon, make sure to visit the main gallery where the six AWE collective artists show their work.

AWE Gallery is open every Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5:00 PM and is located at 678 Portola Dr. It is next to the purple church (north/east side). Use the church parking lot at Portola and Sydney.
